April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month at the Friedberg JCC!


CALENDAR OF EVENTS

Monday, April 8, 1:30 pm: Advanced Treatment Options and PD Dance Party-sponsored by Abbvie of New York-In Person presentation by Jessica Feltman and Dance Party facilitated by Marie Campanella, JCC Boxing, T’ai Chi and Ballroom Dance Instructor-Kosher Lunch Provided. Call to register.

Wednesday, April 10, 4 pm:  Parkinson’s Disease Coalition: Parkinson’s Awareness Month Lecture, Parkinson’s: A Preventable Disease with Dr. Ray Dorsey and Ted Thompson, MJFF-zoom presentation. Call to register

Monday, April 15, 1 pm: Free Educational Seminar for those with Parkinson’s and their Caregivers-in person at Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, Northwell Health, Medication Off Periods and Pain Management. Tuesday April 16, 10 am-2 pm: PD Wellness Fair in person at the Friedberg JCC. Speakers including Dr. Fiona Gupta, movement disorders neurologist; Dr. Rosemary Gallagher, NYIT Physical Therapy Professor and Drs. Zoe Thijs and Kaitllin Brooks, Molloy University Department of Communication Disorders.  Resource Tables, and Free Information and Giveaways. Contact the JCC at 516-766-4341 to reserve your spot.

Thursday, April 25, 4 pm: PD Presentation by Tara Hayes, PA MS Neuroscience, Senior Medical Science Liaison Global R&D, Medical Affairs via zoom-Call Gloria for more info

Saturday, May 19, 9 am: 5K Run/Walk for Parkinson’s at Baldwin Park. Volunteer, Walk, Run, Sponsor, Donate.  All proceeds go to the Friedberg JCC Parkinson’s Programs.
