The Friedberg JCC serves as a vibrant hub for Jewish life on Long Island’s South Shore, offering a wide array of programs that celebrate and uphold Jewish traditions and values. We foster a strong sense of community and connection to Jewish heritage for people of all ages and backgrounds through holiday celebrations and cultural activities.
Meet Our Junior Shaliach
Gal, 28, was born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel. She is a professional dancer, dance educator, and teacher with experience working with students of all ages. She is also passionate about informal education and creating meaningful learning experiences through connection, creativity, and movement.
Gal served in the IDF’s Education and Youth Corps as a commander in the Gadna program, a military preparation program for Israeli high school students. She later worked with the Marva program, a joint initiative of the IDF and the Jewish Agency that provides young Jews from around the world with an immersive, two-month experience in Israel.
As an Israeli Shlicha, Gal is excited to work alongside the Israeli Scouts and the JCC community. She hopes to bring the people, culture, traditions, and spirit of Israel to the community while also listening and learning from those around her. Through her work, she looks forward to creating meaningful connections and fostering a genuine exchange between Israel and the JCC community.
